As we move through February, inching closer to spring, game releases are starting to pick up a bit. In fact, the first of this year’s major releases is upon us. Evolve hits the PS4, Xbox One and the PC. Part Team Fortress, part Left 4 Dead, Evolve represents the next evolution (pun intended) in asymmetrical multiplayer gaming. Given the likeness to Left 4 Dead, it’s no surprise it’s no surprise that Evolve comes from the same developer, Turtle Rock Studios. Within a few weeks we’ll know if the consensus was that Evolve is truly breaking new ground or if the risks it’s taken were in vain.
Evolve isn’t the only big release this week though. Yet another Zelda classic makes it’s way to the 3DS, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask hits the shelves Friday. Given the success Ocarina of Time saw on the 3DS there’s was little doubt that the other N64 Zelda classic would eventually makes it’s way to Nintendo’s portable platform. Marjora’s Mask is a much different game than Ocarina of Time though, we’ll see if one of Link’s most controversial adventures fares will in it’s new release.
Other releases this week include:
Unmechanical Extended (PS3, PS4)
Breath of Fire (Wii U)
Cults & Daggers (PC)
Decay: The Mare (PC)
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)
