New Game Releases for 12/08 – 12/14: Square Enix Doesn’t Know How Reboots Work

Despite the fact that 2013’s Tomb Raider told a new origin story for Lara Croft and was meant to be a reboot for the entire franchise, this week’s Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris (PC, PS4, XB1) has been confirmed to star the Lara from the “Legend” timeline, which includes Tomb Raiders Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld. It’s also a sequel to – and in the style of – the 2010 game Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. So yeah, so much for that supposed reboot, eh?

The first of Bungie’s two promised expansions for their MMO/FPS hybrid also hits this week. Destiny: The Dark Below will feature all of the usual MMO expansion trappings: new story missions, a higher level cap, new areas and weapons, and so on.

Also hitting stores and digital this week:

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy (3DS)
Game of Thrones: Episode 1 (PS3; Already available for PS4, X360, XB1, PC, and iOS)
