New Releases for 9/22 – 9/28

There are a ton of new games coming out this week, most of them smaller niche titles.  There are a few big hitters this week though.  Leading the charge is the confusingly named Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition – Marvel Super Heroes.  The title will be available for pretty much everything that isn’t a handheld (including PC), so if you’re itching to get your figurine collecting gameplay on, now’s your chance.  FIFA 15 is also out this week, as is Dark Souls II: Crown of the Ivory KingHyrule Warriors, the Dynasty Warriors style game based on the Zelda franchise is also quietly releasing for the Wii U this week.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

In the interesting but not as well-known category of releases we have several releases.  The sequel to 2008’s fantastic, Defense Grid: The Awakening, is Defense Grid 2, available for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.  The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, a beautiful and eerie looking adventure game comes to the PC and PS4.  We’ve also got Slender: The Arrival hitting PS3, and Gauntlet, the much anticipated remake, hitting the PC.

In the incredibly oddly title Japanese port category we have Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!!!, Ar Nosurge: Ode to An Unborn Star, and Yu-Gi-Oh!  Zexal World!  Duel Carnival.  Yup, those are real games.  Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!! is a fighting game featuring an all female cast and will be released PS3 and PS Vita.  Ar Nosurge: Ode to An Unborn Star is a JRPG for the PS3.  Finally, Yu-Gi-Oh!  Zexal World!  Duel Carnival is a card battle game, set in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal.

Several other games are releasing this week as well.  Flockers, the Lemmings-style puzzler makes it’s way to the PS4.  Fenix Rage, the fast-paced platformer, will make it to the PC.  Frozen Synapse: Prime will make it’s debut on the PS Vita.  Finally, IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad makes it to PC.
