Guitar, Band, and DJ Hero DLC Are Playing Their Final Shows

While Harmonix has been going above and beyond to keep fans updated on a regular basis as to which songs on the Rock Band Store have expiring licenses, and doing their best to keep as many of them up as possible, Activision is going a slightly different route. The Guitar Hero Facebook page announced yesterday that at the end of this month, ALL downloadable songs for Guitar Hero, Band Hero, and even the more recent DJ Hero games will be pulled offline. In order to make up for this, selected songs and track packs will be on sale for the final two weeks. Yep, you read that right – selected songs and track packs. It’s hard to say whether this whole mess would’ve still seemed as poorly handled and as big of a middle finger to its fans if it wasn’t for the direct comparison to Harmonix’s continued support and commitment to the Rock Band online library, but as it stands, it doesn’t make Activision look so hot.

So if you still play any of their music game franchises, get on there and get any of the songs you’ve missed out on while you still can. MAYBE they’ll be on sale…
